What exactly is finance consultancy?

Consultancy is often defined as ‘giving advice’. But it’s much more than that. As a finance consultant, you’ll provide temporary support to clients who want to safeguard their business continuity, set up optimisation processes, or need your specific finance expertise. You’ll therefore be part of your client’s finance team, enabling you to have a direct impact on an organisation.

Why choose finance consultancy at Hyphen?

Variety and diversity

The added value of project work is that you don’t have to choose just one type of role. Each role is defined differently within every organisation, allowing you to gain an insight into various branches of the finance field. For example, you might explore roles in general ledger accounting, FP&A analysis or business controlling.

Do you already know exactly which path you want to follow? Perfect! Whether your ambition is to progress to become a controlling manager or a CFO, we’ll work with you to create a bespoke career path to help you achieve your professional goals. This gives you the chance to build in-depth knowledge of your dream role and apply it in different contexts.

A steep learning curve

During your first few months on a project as a finance consultant, you’ll experience a steep learning curve. You’ll keep learning new things time and again and will build up solid expertise in no time. Think of various ways to draw up budgets, automating reports, discovering (or implementing) different ERP systems, and so on.

Coaching

Still keen to learn about other areas not covered by your project? That’s possible! We strongly believe in the principle of lifelong learning. As well as learning on the job, you can always count on additional coaching and bespoke training.

We have a wealth of in-house knowledge, drawn from both our dedicated team of project consultants and our business managers. The latter – who all have a background in finance – will guide and coach you with great enthusiasm as you explore the world of finance.

Furthermore, we’ll work with you to identify which training courses can contribute to your individual development on the one hand, and to the successful progress of your project on the other. The training topics are very diverse: technical finance topics, advanced Excel, production controlling, Power BI, leadership, assertiveness, etc.

A warm and close-knit team

We not only focus on creating a stimulating working environment, but also on fostering a positive company culture. At Hyphen, you can count on a warm, open and close-knit team where you can be completely yourself.

Even though you’ll spend a large part of your working week on the project itself, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to get to know your fellow consultants well. From Friday drinks to team-building events and even cycling trips after work, you’ll find yourself part of a close-knit and trusted group of ambitious colleagues.
