Business Manager Finance

As a Business Manager, you’ll be at the heart of this process. You are not a traditional sales or account manager, but a bridge-builder between CFOs and consultants – with an equal understanding of the pressures on a finance department and the ambitions of a finance professional. You combine entrepreneurial spirit with people skills, thereby building your own part of the business within Hyphen.

You have built up years of finance experience in audit, controlling, accounting or consultancy. You’re good at what you do. But you feel there’s more to it: more autonomy, more human interaction, more visible impact, more variety. A role in which you continue to apply your financial expertise, but in a commercial and strategic way, rather than purely analytically.

As a Business Manager Finance, you act as the link between CFOs looking to strengthen their finance teams and finance professionals seeking to take their careers to the next level. You build and manage your own client portfolio, which requires more than just maintaining relationships:

• Business development & client relations: you’ll proactively seek out new opportunities with CFOs and Finance Directors, build lasting relationships and position yourself as a strategic sparring partner in their decisions regarding their finance teams.
• Ownership of your client portfolio: you’ll map out your own strategy for growing your network and portfolio, taking full responsibility for the results.
• Making the right match & negotiating: you’ll get to know finance professionals and their ambitions in depth, make the right match with projects, and discuss the contracts.
• Coaching: you mentor consultants on their projects, act as a sounding board when they face challenges and help them – drawing on your own practical experience in finance – to advance their careers.
• Strategic input: you’ll work alongside clients to help them structure and strengthen their finance organisation, not just fill individual vacancies.

It is a role that involves a high degree of ownership: you work with the freedom and responsibility of an entrepreneur, within Hyphen’s structure and network.

• At least 4 years’ relevant experience in finance (audit, management accounting, accounting or consultancy)
• You thrive on conversations, networking and interacting with people
• You combine analytical thinking with commercial acumen and an entrepreneurial spirit
• You are proactive, results-driven and not afraid to take ownership
• Excellent knowledge of Dutch; knowledge of French is an advantage, but not essential
