Freelance Accountant

We are currently looking for a freelance Accountant for a manufacturing company in West Flanders . You will be responsible for the accurate, timely and complete processing of the financial accounts and will support the monthly, quarterly and annual closings. As an Accountant, you’ll be responsible for the entire accounting process, from day-to-day processing to closing and reporting, and you’ll report directly to the CFO. Here’s a selection of your key responsibilities:

• Processing purchase, sales and financial transactions;
• Monitoring bank transactions, supplier and customer accounts, and outstanding items;
• Preparing and processing payments;
• Managing fixed assets;
• Assisting with monthly, quarterly and annual accounts: provisions, reconciliations and audit files;
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns and assisting with tax returns;
• Preparing financial reports, analysing variances and providing figures to management;
• Assisting with cash flow planning.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy and Taxation or equivalent through experience;
• At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role;
• Good knowledge of Belgian accounting legislation and VAT regulations;
• Accurate, independent, analytically strong and well-organised.
• Good knowledge of Excel; experience with an ERP system is a strong advantage;
• Fluent in Dutch with a good knowledge of French.
