Freelance Accountant

We are looking for a Freelance Accountant for a fast-growing, international tech company in the East Flanders region. You will independently handle day-to-day accounting tasks, from purchase and sales ledgers to month-end closing and compliance, and help ensure accurate and reliable figures.

• Processing and checking purchase invoices, credit notes and expense claims
• Following up on outstanding customer invoices and supporting accounts receivable management;
• Reconciling supplier and customer accounts and resolving discrepancies
• Posting journal entries and assisting with the month-end closing
• Preparing bank reconciliations and assisting with monthly and quarterly reporting
• Assisting with VAT returns, statutory filings and audit preparation
• Collaborating with internal teams and external partners and contributing ideas on process improvement

• You hold a bachelor’s degree in accountancy, finance or an equivalent qualification
• You have at least 3 years’ relevant experience in a similar accounting role and are able to work independently on the month-end closing process
• You have a good understanding of accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping. Experiencewithinternational entities isan advantage
• You are proficient in Excel; experience with OracleNetSuite is a strong plus
• Knowledge of Belgian VAT legislation and an affinity for automation and AI tools arean asset
• You are meticulous, organised and deadline-driven, and identify issues in good time
• You are fluent in Dutch and English
