Hyphen also specialises in finance interim management. Find out here how we can help you.

Our approach

Getting to know each other properly first

Through a digital or face-to-face conversation, we get to know each other and work together to identify the roles for which you’re a potential candidate.

We actively search for the right assignment

Following the introductory meeting, we’ll focus on finding projects that match your profile and where you can make a real difference. Tailored to your ambitions, expertise and practical preferences.

A proposal that works for both sides

We’ll only put you forward after consultation. If your profile matches both the client and the assignment, we’ll clearly highlight your experience and personality. You’ll receive an introduction that’s just right, with a focus on who you are.

Go into the interview prepared and confident

Your business manager will guide you through the preparation for the initial meeting with the client. You’ll be given background information on the assignment, the team and what’s important, so that you’re well prepared when you sit down with them.

We organise the onboarding down to the last detail

As soon as a match is found, we ensure a smooth start. Rates, contracts and agreements are set out transparently. You focus on your assignment; we make sure everything is in order.

Ongoing support throughout your assignment

We remain available throughout your assignment too: as a sounding board, sparring partner and mentor. We think alongside you, follow up and continue to build your career as an interim manager together.

Frequently Asked Questions

We start with a personal introductory meeting. We listen to your story, map out your experience and ambitions, and work with you to identify which projects suits you best.
Even if you aren’t currently working through us, we stay in touch and keep your availability and preferences in mind. As soon as a project comes along that’s a good fit (in terms of both content and feel), we’ll discuss it together and do everything we can to secure the project. Once you're started, we stay closely involved. Step by step, we build a collaboration that keeps growing.

Our assignments span every domain of a modern legal organisation. They often involve projects within the broad scope of corporate and commercial law, but may just as easily be more niche assignments requiring specific expertise. These might include projects in IP/IT, data protection, real estate, compliance, and so on.

Sometimes it's about continuity, sometimes about strengthening core capabilities or driving change.

That mix creates a wide variety of assignments. We have both full-time and part-time projects in our portfolio.

Absolutely. We discuss every assignment with you first. Only once you agree with the content, timing, location, duration and rate, do we introduce you to the client. Next comes an introductory or intake conversation with the client. Only once both parties are satisfied do we start the assignment. Our business managers guide you through the entire process. The better we get to know you, the more accurately we can match you with clients.

The duration of an assignment varies depending on the assignment and the organisation. On average, projects last between 3 and 9 months. Some assignments are clearly defined and shorter in nature, such as maternity leave replacement. Other projects, for example those involving strategic changes, can last longer than a year.

For legal assignments, we work on an all-inclusive daily rate. At the end of the month, you invoice for the number of days worked, and we ensure payment within 14 days of the invoice date.
Sometimes a client asks for a timesheet to be attached as supporting documentation; in which case you include it with your invoice.

Although you work independently as a freelancer, you’re not on your own. Your business manager knows both you and the client and monitors the project closely. If you have any questions about the work, or if something isn't going smoothly, you can count on a knowledgeable sparring partner . You’re also welcome to attend events, or pop into the office to work or catch up.
